What You Get Back

When our research team has completed the analysis of your DNA sample, you will receive a report indicating whether we detected the presence of genetic mutations that typically cause rare diseases.

Since finding those who are “resilient” (i.e. have genetic mutations but not the associated disease) will be rare (about 1 out of 20,000), most people will receive a report stating that we did not identify you as an unexpected hero.

If you are identified as a resilient candidate, a research scientist will contact you to discuss potential next steps, if you are interested. It is important to realize that you will not be receiving detailed information back about your personal genetic makeup. The report will only indicate if you are, or are not, potentially resilient.
